A few weeks ago President Pimentel and I took the U-Bahn to Alexander Platz in downtown Berlin. The Fernsehturm (TV Tower) was built in 1969 and is the city's tallest structure. We rode the elevator up to the viewing platform and arrived just as the sun was going down. We had a fantastic view of Berlin. Marienkirche, or St. Mary's Church, also in the photo, began construction in 1280 and the tower was added in the 1500's. It is a beautiful church building.

Preparation Day Activity
