Sunday Meeting with the Plauen Branch, Leipzig Stake

It was a historic Sunday spent in Plauen as the branch was divided and the new Hof Branch was formed. Elders Künzli, O'Neill, President Pimentel, Frame, Eggmann and Seljaas are pictured.

The forming of the Hof Branch has special meaning for President Pimentel. He served in the Hof Branch as a young missionary in 1972 when it was part of the Germany South Mission. As the branch was closed in 2002 a sister said, "I don't know how or when, but we will have church services here in Hof again."

In July 2010, Elder Sonderegger and Elder Pierson, working in Plauen, felt a great need to spend time in Hof as well. They worked with the members and when they were transferred, Elders Tjaden and Christensen continued their work. In December 2010 permission was received from the Leipzig Stake Presidency to form a group. Sunday services were held with 15 attending.

February 2011 Elder O'Neill and Elder Künzli opened a missionary apartment in Hof and worked there exclusively. Elder Seljaas came to Hof when Elder Künzli left.

July 3, 2011 the Plauen Branch (where Elders Eggmann and Frame are currently serving) was divided and the Hof Branch formally organized. It was a day of rejoicing!
