"Rejoice, for the Hour of Your Mission is Come..." D&C 31:3
Sister and Elder Smith from Provo, Utah
Sister and Elder Frank from South Jordan, Utah
Both of these couples arrived on Saturday and are thrilled to be serving in
Germany. They both have ties to this area.
Sister Smith is from Germany and Elder Smith served in Germany in the military.
Elder Frank served his mission to Berlin in the early 1960's.
" With faith and courage they leave their homes and everything that is familiar to them because of their faith in the great good they can do as missionaries. As they act on their vision to serve, they bless the lives of many and, in the process, change their own lives."
O. Vincent Haleck, General Conference, April 2012

Mini-Missions
This month Priest age Young Men/Laurel age Young Women and Young Adults from the Neumünster, Hamburg and Berlin Stakes, participated in separate Mini-Mission experiences. Elders and Sisters from various areas were their mentors and provided them "real life" missionary opportunities.
When each completed their Mini-Mission, the young people shared how their testimony had grown and their love for missionary work increased. It was a great experience for each of them.
Zone Leader Council in Berlin
It is a choice opportunity to sit around the table with these young missionaries and listen to them discuss their challenges, vision and goals for their zones for the upcoming month.

Thick, thick milk shakes!
Plan A - a bowl of ice cream with chocolate sauce on top.
Plan B - milk shakes, because of no freezer space.
The Elders didn't complain about the outcome.

When the missionaries start coming through the door pulling their suitcases,
reality sets in that they are really going home. We try to hide the tears.
Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
"... they were instruments in the hands of God in bringing many to the knowledge of the truth, yea, to the knowledge of their Redeemer. And how blessed are they! For they did publish peace; they did publish good tidings of good; and they did declare unto the people that the Lord reigneth." Mosiah 27:36-37
Assistants in Transition
Elder Künzli, Elder Ott, Elder McCann
We welcome Elder Künzli to the Office. He joins Elder McCann as an
Assistant to President Pimentel. They will do a good job in helping President
keep things moving in the mission.
We enjoyed the time Elder Ott was with us. He radiates his love of the
Gospel and will bless the lives of those in his new area.

Openhouse in Tiergarten
Ward Member, Sister Uhlig, Sister Warncke, Sister & Elder Johnson
Elder Angerhofer, Elder Jackson
President Pimentel and I visited the Tiergarten Ward Open House today. It was
great to see the enthusiasm of these terrific missionaries as they invited people
to come into the Church building. The Elders actually jogged alongside a couple
of people and extended the invitation. It worked! 1/2 hr. later a man returned
to learn more. He lived near the Church for 14 years and had never been inside.
We hope to see him again.

Zone Conference Overview
Words cannot describe the feelings and the Spirit of this past week. Day after day we heard conversion stories and musical pieces that were heavenly. Workshops were taught that provided uplift and insights on a variety of topics from Preach My Gospel. It really was amazing to hear the missionaries teach with knowledge and maturity beyond their years. We were also privileged to hear testimonies of the new missionaries and those who will be returning home soon. What a treat!
The main focus of Zone Conference was on The Converting Power of the Book of Mormon. President and Sister Pimentel taught that reading the Book of Mormon will help those who read it come to know that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ and that the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth today. It truly is another testament of Jesus Christ as there are 541 references to Christ in 521 pages.
In Doctrine and Covenants 20, we learn that God ministered to Joseph Smith by an angel, and gave him power from on high, to translate the Book of Mormon; which contains the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, proving to the world that the holy scriptures are true...
