Zone Council Message for August 2009

President Pimentel discussed an article by President Faust, "Ten Things to Know Before You Go" (New Era, July 2002) and applied it to the missionaries now serving. They are:

1. You will be under call from the Lord Jesus Christ.
2. Your mission president is the Lord's representative.
3. Hard work is more important than intellect.
4. Forget yourself in His service.
5. Never permit contention in your companionship.
6. Keep your bodies clean and healthy and your living quarters clean.
7. Learn to love and serve the people among whom you work.
8. Study, ponder, and teach from the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon and the New Testament.
9. You must know that Satan will oppose you, and be prepared for his opposition.
10. Your own personal testimony is the strongest arrow in your quiver.

They have arrived! It took 4 cars and a van to get everyone

plus the luggage in. Was it ever worth the effort! We

look forward to working with these new missionaries.

Hard at Work and Happy!

With 14 new missionaries arriving next week and 17

going home, Sister and Elder Rich, Elder Lutter,

Elder Killpack, President Pimentel and I are

working hard to be ready.

Potsdam Baptism

We attended our first baptism in the Berlin Mission. It

was a sweet experience to gather at the lakeside. The

Potsdam ward building does not have a baptismal font so we

walked across the street for this most wonderful event.
